ARGGHH! Seriously, how weak as humans are we to let something affect us so heavily as going to work? It's 6 hours long, I make $200.00 a day, and I never break a sweat. Who am I to complain about it?! I start at midnight and it is POURING down rain outside. I have the best rain gear you can get, but still I complain. Lame of me.

Everyone at some point in time or another just don't want to go to work. It's human.

What kind of work do you gentlemen do? I am an assistant manager and the yard guy at a group of apartments.

I'm most likely going to be doing security at the bus tunnels in Seattle if all goes well. The clean shaven thing has opened up a number of other places that I wasn't eligible for before.

Everyone at some point in time or another just don't want to go to work. It's human. Yes, but I guess at the time I was thinking of deeper reasoning. I was more pondering how well we have it, generally speaking, and how selfish we as humans can be partially because we take so many things for granted. BTW jq, I drive a train, and sometimes build those trains; by putting the cuts of cars together in the order they should be, not by welding.

That sounds like a pretty badass job. How does one go about getting a job like that? Do you have to go through an apprenticeship or what?

No, no apprenticeship is required. You just put in an application on the website. UPRR.com. Of course, it helps entirely if you know someone who works there. I"m pretty sure it's illegal, the level of favor-based hiring they do there. Everyone I know has a dad or uncle or someone who worked there before they got hired. I contracted for them for years and knew the local managers pretty well, otherwise, no hire for me.
