Have any of you guys played The Witcher? It is really cool...I am a big RPG player and this is one of the best I've ever played. It's like a darker version of Neverwinter Nights, but the combat system takes some skill and is a lot of fun. It's definitely the best game I've played in 2007.
If you do decide to buy it, make sure to get the uncensored version ;-)

Looks like a really great engine.
I'm still trying to find out whether it's a huge world, or whether it has to load individual areas like boxes like in Neverwinter Nights. Another thing I'm trying to find out is whether it has a 1st person camera mode with fps control, or whether the control MUST be done with the mouse in 3rd person mode only. I like having 3rd person as an option, and I'd probably use it a lot on that game, but NOT having it makes me feel like I'm playing something old with a facelift.
Looks like a great game though, either way.

Yes, if you have a good computer it looks great...mine is not very good, i have 2gig ram, an old ati x800pro and i think a 2 ghz cpu? but it still runs pretty well. the biggest issue i and many others have with the game is that it takes a long time to save/load. it is a lot like huge world, not boxes like NN but it can take a long time to run between areas. there's no fast travel i dont think although i am not that far into it. there are three camera modes, over the shoulder, high isometric and low isometric (a closer view from above). i use OTS and it works great, its really immersive. i guess its a bit like World of Warcraft but i haven't really played that so i',m not sure. any other questions just ask.
there might be a demo you could test out to see how you like it

I have a 3.2ghz p4 with 1 gig of ram and a Geforce FX 5500--it's a sucky video card. I could barely run Oblivion, so I doubt I'll be able to run this.

i could barely run oblivion too...to be honest, i dont know if you video card is better than mine or vice versa! it seems like you definitely have a better cpu though, and ram is pretty cheap, have you thought about adding a gig of ram?
i plan on getting a new video card when the vista / dx10 cards come out, so if you want my card then i'll be happy to send it to you!

I need to upgrade ALL my ram--I'm using much slower ram than I could be, so when I get more, I'm going to be getting 2 new gigs.
